Can you believe I’ve spent a year blogging as Relentlessly Purple!?
I’d blogged before setting up Relentlessly Purple but tried to put far too many restrictions on myself, only letting myself publish positive posts & eventually I felt like I was unable to write anything.
Blogging as Relentlessly Purple & not restricting myself makes it much easier to write and publish posts although admittedly I have been slacking majorly over the last month or 2 but it’s nice to see I still get visitors daily.
I may not have posted much recently but writing on the blog has helped me get through some tough patches over the past year & I really appreciate the love & support given by other bloggers especially my fellow spoonies who have given me some amazing advice & tips.
I feel like I’ve achieved a fair amount on the blog considering I’m not a regular poster, with 80 wordpress followers, over 2,500 twitter followers & 200 Instagram followers.
I plan on working harder with the blog over the next year and hope to have doubled these numbers by next year if possible and interact with other bloggers more.. Seems silly to sit & stare at posts on social media and not respond in case you ‘bother’ someone so I intend to be a little braver & interact a lot more!
How long have you been blogging for? Is your current blog your first? What did/have you achieved in your first year blogging?
Congrats on the 1 year anniversary! <3 I've really enjoyed reading your posts, even the ones that aren't happy. Life isn't always happy and knowing you're not alone in your less good moments can be so much better than just trying to be upbeat all the time. My current blog started in 2012. It's not my first, I've had various blogs/online journals since my mid teens, but it's been the only one that's really stuck so far. I think the maturity of the WordPress community has been a vital part of it. (Other places can be so full of teen and childish drama that it makes it a chore even visiting....) My first year of blogging was primarily geared towards writing down what bothered me. I had massive gaps between posts and I wrote a lot about how miserable I was at the time. It did help me out a lot. It was very negative on the screen, but inside I felt relieved and unburdened afterwards. I think it's been a very important step in getting my mental health in better shape, and now I blog about a lot of good things but never leave out the bad. :) And the bad have become a lot less than they used to be.

Congratulations! I have been blogging around 6 months and most weeks I post once or twice. I feel like I should probably interact more too but I try to do a little! It's been so much fun and great to get to know other bloggers but I do have to remind myself not to take it seriously - it really doesn't matter if I miss a week or two!! Hope you continue to love your blog, keep up the good work. Ellen

Thank you! I used to get quite stressed if I hadn't posted but now I'm not so fussed :) Thanks for your lovely comment!

Congratulations on getting to 1 year. It looks like you've done really well to build up your following. I have been blogging 4 mths so I'm still quite new, but I really love it. I try to keep my posts positive too. Sometimes I think it helps me to feel better about things it I have to try and find some positives for my blog. I post twice a week.
