Rainbow Rabbit Puzzle Review

I received an adorable Hape’s George Luck’s Rainbow Rabbit Puzzle, suitable for 3+ from Debenhams to review with Izzy. Wooden toys are always a favourite for us, the quality can’t be beaten! This colourful wooden puzzle is made using eco-friendly water based paints too.

Rainbow Rabbit Puzzle

Rainbow Rabbit Puzzle

I showed Izzy the puzzle and she excitedly took it from me and tipped the pieces onto the floor. Looking at the picture on the back of the box Izzy quickly pieced the puzzle back together again. We have a few wooden puzzles but the rainbow rabbit puzzle is different as the pieces fit together instead of separately.

This gorgeous 7 piece wooden puzzle makes up an adorable rainbow mama rabbit and baby rabbit. The design is so cute even Izzy aww’d when it was complete again. The rainbow rabbit puzzle kept Izzy busy for quite some time. After a day or so the box was no longer needed as Izzy had remembered where the pieces go.

Wooden puzzles are one of Izzy’s favourite thing’s to play with. Puzzles help toddlers with hand-eye coordination and problem solving skills, two important factors in child development. You can also use the puzzle to help teach your toddler their colours & count to 7 as they piece the puzzle together.

This puzzle is great fun for any toddler and would make a brilliant gift or addition to the toy collection. Izzy keeps going back to play with the puzzle and I’m sure it will stay a favourite for quite some time.

Do you love wooden puzzles too? What do you think of the Rainbow Rabbit puzzle? Would your little one love it too?

We received a set of Good Bubble Dexter Dragon fruit natural bath products to try out with the girls at bath time.

Good Bubble Natural Bath Products for Children

Who are they?

Good Bubble provide a natural range of bath and haircare products for children. With a range of colourful characters and exotic scents which are allergen-free it’s no surprise these products were backed by Deborah Meaden on Dragons Den in August 2015!

What’s in it?

Good Bubble products contain at least 98% naturally derived ingredients to clean skin & hair without stripping natural moisture from children’s young & sensitive skin. All Good Bubble products are free-from artificial colours, Sulphates, Parabens, Phthalates & PEG.

All products proudly feature the Leaping Bunny logo, celebrating Good Bubble’s recent certification by Cruelty Free International. Rigorously tested and approved by mums, their little ones, dermatologists and ophthalmologists, the bottles are recyclable and the range is also certified by The Vegan Society.

Our verdict

The bubble bath creates plenty of bubbles to keep the girls happy! Having used this set for a week or so now it’s definitely made a difference. Myself & the girls have eczema, Izzy more than Eva but we had absolutely no problems at all.

They both came out of the bath smelling lovely with soft skin. We will be continuing to use this as it seems to be improving the dry skin on Izzy’s arms. We’ve had no eczema flares at all after bath time thanks to the natural ingredients in these bath & hair products. If your child has sensitive skin like ours do, I would definitely recommend the Good Bubble range.

Good Bubble Ranges

There are two ranges of Good Bubble Products; Dexter Dragon Fruit & Clara Cloudberry. The girls received a bottle of Bubble Bath, Shampoo & Conditioner in the Dexter Dragon Fruit Range.

Tots Up Red Bus Reward Chart

The Tots Up Reward Chart

We were sent a Tots Up Red Bus Reward Chart to review. The Tots Up Reward Chart is a 3D Magnetic Red Bus with 10 people included to reward good behaviour. Izzy absolutely loves red buses which you may have noticed in a recent #MySundayPhoto so I had quite high hopes for the Tots Up Reward Chart. The chat also works with an IOS spp. I’m not a IOS user but there will be an android version being released sometime soon.

Tots Up Red Bus Reward Chart

Inside the box

The chart arrived including a magnetic board bus with a stand for the passengers to board and a magnetic board bus stop with stand for the passengers to ‘wait’ on before boarding the bus. A leaflet is included explaining how to set the chart up and how to use it. There are also letter stickers to spell out your child’s name on the bus. Izzy surprisingly decided she wanted her full name – Isobella on the bus so we got to work spelling it out with her.

Tots Up Red Bus Rewards Chart Contents

Using The Red Bus Reward Chart

We explained to Izzy what the chart was for and how to use it. Reward charts tend to work best when the child understands how they can earn a chance to add a passenger to their bus. With Izzy we decided she could add a person to her us each time she did some of the following:

  • Putting away her toys
  • Eating her food nicely
  • Walking nicely to/from school/town when she chooses to go
  • Putting her rubbish in the bin
  • Sharing & playing nicely with her sister
  • General good/helpful behaviour

We have also agreed she can pick her special treat each time she has 10 passengers on her bus.

 Bus Stop

So Far, So Good

The Red bus reward chart has worked really well with Izzy so far. She is really enjoying trying to find new ways to earn a chance to add another person to her bus. After Eva’s birthday Izzy was a little jealous and was a bit mean so the reward chart really helped encourage her to be nicer.

At £22.95 for this set it is well worth every penny. We will definitely be buying the 10 festive characters pack & 10 Animals pack so Izzy can swap between them on her reward chart. The Tots Up Bus Reward chart is also available in pink.

Izzy absolutely loves her reward chart and her behaviour has been much better in general since we started using it. I can see us using the reward chart for quite some time as it makes behaving much more fun. I’ll be keeping an eye out for the launch of the android app too!

Red Bus Reward Chart & Bus stop

What do you think of the Tots Up Red Bus Reward Chart? Do you use a reward chart with your little ones? How well have they got on with it?

Lucy Locket’s Wooden Fairytale Tea Set Inspiring Imaginations

We received an absolutely gorgeous Wooden Fairytale Tea Set to review from Lucy Locket. The tea set includes 12 pieces, 2 are gorgeous glittery cakes! I opened the outer packaging & the pink tissue paper wrapped around the box peaked Izzy’s interested immediately. Izzy was so excited when I told her she could open it.

Lucy Locket Wooden Fairytale Ta Set

Izzy unwrapped the wooden tea set, each piece carefully wrapped in paper to keep it safe. Each piece is carefully hand painted with beautiful fairies, magical creatures & flowers with a touch of glitter. I absolutely love the designs, especially the tray and Teapot!

The Wooden Fairytale Tea Set includes:Wooden Fairytale Tea set

  • 1 x Tea tray
  • 2 x Cups
  • 2 x Saucers
  • 1x Teapot
  • 1 x Teapot lid
  • 1x Milk jug
  • 2 x Tea spoons
  • 2 x Glittery cakes

Wooden Fairytale Teapot

After unwrapping all the pieces, Izzy got to work setting up the tea set, placing cups on saucers etc. Even Izzy pointed out the beautiful fairy designs and ‘sparkle’ as she busied herself. A cup of tea was poured for me & a cup of coffee for her daddy whilst keeping the cake closely guarded next to her haha!

Tea set

Izzy loves playing with the tea set and spends a good half an hour repeatedly pouring teas & coffees whilst explaining what she is doing. Eva & Izzy both enjoy having tea parties together so Izzy couldn’t wait for Eva to come home & play too.

When Eva got home both girls decided they needed to dress up as princesses & have a tea party. They both took turns pouring tea & milk & then stirring their cups of tea, happily talking as they went. Eva told anyone and everyone all about the Fairytale Tea Set the next day!

I am really impressed with the quality of the tea set, the wood is thick & strong and so beautifully decorated that any little one would love this Fairytale Tea Set.

At just £24 with free post & packaging (on orders over £20) this gorgeous Wooden Fairytale Tea Set would make the perfect gift! Lucy Locket offer a range of stunning dress up costumes and wooden toys. Perfect for encouraging kids to use their imaginations through pretend play.

Improving My Mental Health & Sleep With S+ By Resmed

To try improving my mental health & sleep I received the S+ by Resumed to test out and review. Anyone with any kind of mental health issues knows just how important getting enough sleep is. Add in Chronic pain & most days are a disaster so I was interested to see how the S+ could help me. The S+ is a sleep tracking device which is COMPLETELY wireless! No wristbands or pad’s to place anywhere. A plus for me as I don’t like wearing wristbands whilst I sleep or having any strange lumps in the bed.

I was interested in seeing how the S+ tracked my sleep and see if there were any ways of improving my sleep routine to help manage my anxiety mainly! It took me a while to remember to set the S+ to Sleep each night due to my medication knocking me out most nights! (Hence disappearing from twitter at random times each night!)

Improving My Mental Health & Sleep

The box contains:

  1. S+ Pod
  2. S+ Frame
  3. 59″ micro USB cable
  4. AC adapter with dual USB ports
  5. User manual

The S+ Pod sits in the S+ frame which allows you to adjust the positioning of the pod. The pod needs to be within arms length of where you sleep, I have a small bedside unit next to my bed so I placed the S+ on there and adjusted the position so that it pointed towards my chest. This allows the S+ to monitor your heartbeat.

S+ App

I downloaded the S+ By Resmed App & synched my phone to the device via Bluetooth. I looked through the S+ Guide to get an idea of how the app & monitor work.

Pre-Sleep

The S+ requires you to let it know when you are going to sleep using the app. This then takes you through Pre-Sleep where it asks you questions about your day. Questions include things how many caffeine drinks you’ve had, how much exercise you’ve done, how stressful your day was and a few other’s too. This helps the monitor to work out where improvements can be made to improve your sleep score.

Monitoring your sleep

The S+ records how long it takes you to fall asleep each night along with monitoring your sleep across the night. There is also an option to set an alarm to wake you up at an optimal time based on your sleep. Each night you are given a sleep score from 0-100. I started off quite low with a score of 65 on my first night with only 64% REM sleep & 70% Deep Sleep with 9 disturbances across the night.

Using the data from the first 3 nights helps the S+ work out what could help improve your sleep score. This also takes into account the room temperature & lux. My first night the temperature was 25c & lux 0 (light). These are considered good ranges for sleep so I didn’t need to change anything there.

Still tired but less stressed

Seeing all this information the S+ tracks made me realise just how hard I’ve been pushing myself. Even following the tips my sleep only improves by a tiny bit because I’m still waking in pain. It can be tough being a spoonie and always feeling exhausted, it sometimes makes you feel like maybe you are just lazy. Seeing on the chart how frequently I wake and just how much time I spend awake across the night made me realise it was no wonder I still woke up exhausted! My first score has been my highest so far this week!

Not being so hard on myself after seeing how little sleep I’ve managed each morning has helped my mood. Now I don’t feel quite as guilty saying I’ve had enough & I’m too tired for the day, especially when I see I’ve had a rough night. It’s one thing knowing you are exhausted it’s another being able to see exactly why. Seeing how many times I wake across the night I realised I wake more than I thought too.

Improving my mental health & sleep

I have actually been a little less anxious since remembering to set the S+ each night. I’ve felt less guilty about dosing up where I can see the pain is waking me regularly & it’s not just in my head. Following tips along the way has been helpful too & keeping track of my caffeine intake as I thought I actually drank more than I do across the day!

I’ve also felt a little less depressed each day as I don’t feel like I am just lazy constantly. I can see I’m not sleeping well  & as shown in the graph above shows timings too. I know I’m going to bed at a decent time & I know I’m at least trying to get more sleep & rest enough each day but I’m still waking which is obviously why I still exhausted every day.

I would definitely recommend the S+ as it shows the information you want to know & provides some really helpful tips too. I’m determined to keep using the monitor and try to improve where I can! I wish I had remembered to try it out much sooner, I may do another post soon to share with you all how continued use has helped!

Would you use the S+ or have you got one already?

Tooth Brushing Fun With Brush-Baby

The girls have had plenty of tooth brushing fun with Brush-Baby Products we received to review.

Brush-Baby are a company who offer a range of dental care products for babies, toddlers & children. From dental wipes for babies, chewable toothbrushes, electric toothbrushes, toothpaste’s & floss brushes! Whatever you are looking for Brush-Baby will have a suitable product.

Brush-Baby

We received a package from Brush-Baby for the girls to try.

The girls both had different brushes and toothpastes suitable for their ages which they loved. Izzy received the 3-6 years Tutti Frutti Toothpaste & the 3-6 years Kidzsonic toothbrush. She gets on quite well with the toothpaste which surprised me as she can be quite fussy when it comes to flavoured toothpastes. Eva had the 6+ Spearmint toothpaste & 6+ Kidzsonic toothbrush.

They also received sticker charts & stickers to track their progress.

These helped encourage the girls to brush their teeth every morning and night. Both girls have been having plenty of fun using their special brushes and watching the colours change . I love that the Kidzsonic brushes flash for 2 minutes. I don’t have to worry about the girls knowing how long they need to brush their teeth for. It’s been quite nice seeing them get so excited about keeping their teeth clean & healthy.

After trying out the brushes and toothpaste for a few weeks both girls filled their charts completely!

Both girls really liked the designs on the brushes but absolutely loved the LED flashing light and like to turn off the bathroom light to brush their teeth. At one point I did have to hide the brushes in the kitchen unless needed as they loved them so much & kept sneaking off to brush their teeth haha!

I couldn’t recommend these products more as the girls have had so much fun brushing their teeth and it’s comforting to know they are will spend a full 2 minutes brushing each time. I have awful teeth due to not brushing properly as a child so it’s nice to know the girls will have healthy clean teeth at my age!

Izzy seems pretty impressed with the products on the back of her completed chart too!

I wish I had discovered Brush-Baby sooner as the dental care products for babies look fantastic, especially the dental wipes! Have you heard of Brush-Baby before? What do you think?

Ladies Purple Heat Holders Lounge Socks – Warm, Cosy & Purple!

A pair of Ladies Purple Heat Holders Lounge Socks were sent out for me to review. Anyone that follows me on twitter knows I am always cold and complain my feet are freezing a lot so I couldn’t wait to receive them and see if they really did make my life warmer & purple. 😉

Ladies Purple Heat Holders Lounge Socks

Soo warm!

The socks instantly warmed my feet up, with a 2.34 tog rating they really do keep your feet toasty. I actually managed to get through an entire day without complaining about cold feet. An impressive feat! I love the purple pair I was sent & the thick purple heart grippers on the bottoms. The inside’s are so soft and fluffy they feel lovely on your feet too.

I’ve tried out a lot of different fluffy/thermal socks & slippers in an attempt to keep my feet warm but tend to end up wearing several pairs of socks. Keeping my feet warm is something I find quite frustrating as it makes my balance worse too. It’s nice not to have to keep putting on more socks across the day & tripping over cold numb feet!

Warm & Purple!

Impressively the Heat Holders Lounge Socks actually stay on my feet without the need to continuously pull them back up. I tend to have this problem (which REALLY annoys me) with most fluffy/thermal socks. Having had a look through the range on the heat holder’s website I will most definitely be buying more pairs for me & the girls as well as there are some beautiful designs for girls on there too!

Do you struggle to keep your feet warm too? If so I’d definitely recommend having a look at the lovely designs by Heat Holder, there’s something for all the family!

Cbeebies Magazine – Learning & Colouring Fun Together

Cbeebies magazineIzzy loves Cbeebies and was ecstatic to receive a copy of the magazine for us to take a look at together. We received the big colouring pack edition which was an added bonus for Izzy as she absolutely loves colouring!

She was really excited about having her own special crayons, pens & felt tips and couldn’t wait to get them off and open the magazine. Of course she was more than happy to pose and show off her magazine first.

Izzy concentrating

Izzy flicked through the pages and was so happy to see almost every page had something to colour in! She went back to the first page to colour Bing a present.

Bing is her FAVOURITE character on Cbeebies and she loves flop too so she tried so hard to stay in the lines.. Not too bad for a 2 year old! We were both really pleased with her efforts and there was plenty of praise for her.

Concentrating

Of course we then had to colour in the big Bing picture too. Izzy decided Mummy had to join in aswell.. Although as always she had to be a little bit awkward so this time she was wayyyy over the lines but we had fun. Check us out concentrating really hard on our colouring!

Bing

Gingerbread Man

Next we moved on to some of the activities like this Topsy and Tim one. Although she can’t quite write yet Iread Izzy the questions. She was really pleased to get them right and add the relevant stickers too.

The activities throughout the magazine were really fun and even at Izzy’s age the activities are doable with a little extra help. This magazine is brilliant for improving fine motor skills with colouring and sticking amongst other things.

There’s a brilliant Peter Rabbit workbook in the middle which Izzy decided to colour in but would have been great for a slightly older child. I do enjoy buying magazines Izzy will actually enjoy with lots of activities too so I’ll definitely buy it in future for her. Izzy absolutely loved The Furchester Hotel activity though. Finding Isabel and decorating the Christmas tree with stickers. It’s always lovely to see a toddler having fun and concentrating at the same time!

The Furchester Hotel

The Cbeebies magazine gave me and Izzy something to sit down and do together during a very hectic month. I have to say it’s been a great distraction for both of us. Magazines are usually a rare treat as generally they don’t have much in them. The girls are usually bored in minutes in all honesty. However Izzy has spent a few days colouring in some more and getting Eva to read the stories to her. I’ll be buying the next issue for to keep us busy on days Eva is at school.

You can buy a Cbeebies Magazine too in your local newsagents & supermarkets.

*I received this item in return for my honest review.
